Our Impact Since the founding of the first ARCS Chapter in 1958 after the launch of Sputnik, Chapters nationwide have awarded in excess of $139 million to the brightest STEM scholars in the United States. ARCS Foundation Phoenix has awarded 1,278 scholar awards for a total of $8,493,900 to Arizona’s three major state universities.
